Gone, but Not Forgotten

The following classmate is Gone, but not Forgotten. What follows on this page is information received when notified of the death.


The Air Force Academy Association of Graduates & Foundation have recently learned of the death of Maj. (Ret.) John F. Helinski, CS-21, Class of 1963. Major Helinski passed away on July 5, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A funeral Mass was held on Aug. 11, 2023, at the USAFA Community Chapel. Interment followed at the USAFA Cemetery. His family has suggested memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to the Boy Scouts of America -Pathways to the Rockies Council or to the Air Force Academy Foundation & Association of Graduates.
