Gone, but Not Forgotten
The following classmate is Gone, but not Forgotten. What follows on this
page is information received when notified of the death.
| The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation has recently learned of the death of Col. (Ret.) John D. Scott, CS-06, Class of 1963. Col. Scott passed away on Dec. 10, 2025, in Trinidad, Colorado.
A wake was held on Dec. 21, 2025, at Mullare-Murphy Funeral Home, Trinidad, Colorado. A Funeral Mass followed on Dec. 22, 2025, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Trinidad, Colorado.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30 p.m., July 15, 2026, at the USAFA Community Chapel, 5134 Cathedral Dr., USAF Academy, Colorado. A Burial Service will immediately follow at the USAFA Cemetery, 3024 Parade Loop, USAF Academy, Colorado 80840. Base access details to follow when available.
His family has suggested memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to Rotary Club of Trinidad’s 2026 Ride to End Polio or the Murray Parents Association.
Condolences may be left online with his obituary or sent to his family in care of his wife, Nancy.
