Biography as of Mar 27, 2014
1964: Exiled into SAC after UPT, I flew B-52s at Sheppard AFB and Pease AFB including 3 SEA combat tours with 185 missions.
1970: Threatening my resignation, I was sent to A-37s in Bien Hoa, Vietnam and flew 205 more strike missions.
1971: Grad school at Arizona State University, MSE in Industrial Engineering.
1973: Test Pilot School at Edwards AFB, CA
1974: Wright Patterson AFB OH, flying the C-135 and the C-141 in systems test programs.
1976: Armed Forces Staff College followed by assignment back to Edwards AFB as a B-1 test pilot. President Carter cancels the B-1 program and I report to test ops to fly the A-37, KC-135 and B-52 OAS program. .
1978: I fly the B-52 - ALCM integration tests, and chase some cruise missiles in the F-4.
1979: I fly in the NC-141B test program, mostly as an air refueling pilot.
1980: I instruct at the Test Pilot School in the T-38, A-37 and gliders.
1980: I move from active duty to the Reserve C-141 unit at Norton AFB CA and take a job testing the KC-10 for McDonnell-Douglas.
1981: I start flying for Air California as a B-737 first officer and return to TPS as the first Reserve instructor while keeping my unit position in the C-141s.
1984: I reluctantly stop flying at Edwards and concentrate on Norton AFB and Air Cal's MD-80s.
1988: I am promoted to full Colonel and given six months to get off the base, whereupon I tell them I have 20 years of active duty and start collecting my retirement check.
1989-2001: Air Cal has been purchased by American Airlines and I fly MD-80s, A-300s, B-757s and B-767s until the FAA says I am too old.
2004-2005: I fly in the test program, perform deliveries to Colombia, and instruct their AF in the OV-10M.
2013: I fly the HA--200B over our 50th reunion with Lucky Ekman!
