    Peter was born and grew up in Clinton, New York.  He graduated from Clinton Central High School in 1959, and then attended the U.S. Air Force Academy.  At the Academy he was in 13th Squadron and was on the Dean’s List all eight semesters.     After graduation Peter went through the Communications Intelligence Officers Training Course at Goodfellow Air Force Base in Texas, and was assigned to the 6910th Security Wing in Darmstadt, Germany.  Peter was at Darmstadt for three years, and in 1966 he met his future wife Beverly who was teaching school in the American School there.  They were married in Germany in 1967, and later that year Peter left the Air Force to attend Syracuse Law School.  While in Syracuse Peter and Beverly’s daughter Lisa was born in 1969.  Peter was an Editor of the Syracuse Law Review, a member of the Justinian Law Society, and was awarded the Order of the Coif.  He graduated in 1970 and joined the law firm of Hinman, Howard & Kattell in Binghamton, New York.  Their daughter Stephanie was born in Binghamton in 1972.     Peter’s primary client while at the firm was Link Aviation which was the manufacturer of aircraft simulators (Link Trainers).  His work for Link had Peter negotiating sales contracts throughout the U.S., in Korea, Brazil, and Africa.  In 1978 Peter left the Law Firm and joined General Electric’s Legal Operation.     His first position at GE was Counsel for a research lab which designed and developed nuclear reactors for the U.S. Navy in Schenectady, New York.  He then moved to the Power Generation business and negotiated contracts for the sale of power generation equipment in Asia, Europe, and throughout the Middle East.  In 1983 Peter became Counsel for the GE Trading Company in New York City which required contract negotiations throughout Europe and China, and in 1986 he moved to GE’s Aircraft Engine Business - first in Lynn, Massachusetts and then at the Headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. Peter’s client at Aircraft Engines was the Production Division which designed the engines, produced or purchased the parts, and assembled the engines. He dealt directly with many parts suppliers, and was responsible for setting up manufacturing joint ventures for the production of engine parts.  In 1997 Peter made his final move within GE when he became Counsel for GE’s Research and Development Center in Schenectady.     Peter retired from GE in 2001 and he and Beverly then made several vacation trips to Japan, Northern Italy, Southern Italy, Switzerland, and the Canadian Rockies.  They live close to their daughters in the Saratoga, New York area and for many years they have made annual family ski week trips to Vermont or Canada, and annual family summer trips to Cape Cod.
